We're back from Gen Con and had a blast meeting with all of you that were able to make it out. We put together this video compilation to show you how the backpack and add-ons look in person as we know it's a tough decision to choose your colors and optional add-ons!

Surveys

As production is already in full swing we're finalizing some details with the worldwide hubs we'll be using for fulfillment and getting the final numbers would be super helpful so if you haven't had the chance to get your surveys filled out please take a look at the video above to get a better picture of what's available and try to get your surveys in ASAP!

Hi everyone, 

The moment we've all been waiting for... surveys are going out!

You should be seeing them within the next couple of hours in your email inbox as we're sending them out in batches. If you don't see the surveys in a few hours, check your spam folders and if they're not there just send us a message and we'll respond with the link.  

Please try to get your surveys back as soon as possible so we can begin to organize the freight details to the different fulfillment hubs around the world. We're looking to lock down the surveys in September in order to send the correct shipping information to the hubs to keep with the plan of November fulfillment. 

Of course if you have any questions feel free to send us a message but keep in mind we'll be at Gen Con for the rest of the week so there will be a delay in responding!

Hey all, 

We hope you had a great week!

First order of business: GEN CON 2018!!

We'll be there will you?! If you're lucky enough to be attending Gen Con in two weeks please stop by and say hi! You'll get to check out THE ULTIMATE BOARDGAME BACKPACK in person and since we know you won't have an awesome bag to carry any new games you buy, we're giving our backers courtesy totes! We'll also be raffling off a bunch of some GeekOn! gear so be sure to stop by!

So if you're planning on attending Gen Con visit us at Booth 323 (we're late signers so we're sharing a booth with an awesome company but we won't be listed in the printed maps!)

As promised we've got some pics and videos of the new samples that came in. We're still waiting on a couple of them and will update again when those arrive.

First we wanted to show you in detail the new space-saving folding feature from Stretch Goal #6 which keeps all the stability and protection that the backpack provides but allows you to make it more compact for easier storage. When folded down the backpack is now only 4" thick!

QUAD-MOD: We're still waiting for updated samples of the zippered mesh pouches which will go inside each pocket but we took these shots just for you to get a visual to see how much the QUAD-MOD actually holds! The entire Ticket To Ride game is in these four pockets with tons of space to spare!

 WAIST-STRAPS:

We went all out and added the waterproof pocket on both sides for extra storage! Super padded for extra comfort these straps are really an awesome addition to the backpack and we want to thank all the backers who suggested this add-on during the campaign! We'll only be making the waist straps in the Black/Gray color so that they will match any backpack color you pick.  

Playmat Dry Bag of Doom:

Able to fit mats up to 36" high the Dry Bag of Doom has a waterproof zipper and shoulder strap which clips into the top and bottom of the bag whether you're using the full length or rolling it down to fit your sized mat. 

Steps:

1 - Slap your mat inside

2 - Roll out the excess air (this thing is so waterproof it'll trap air too!)

3 - Fold in the zipper ends

4 - Roll it down to the size needed & clip to lock it in!

5 - Get out to your game night without worrying about a soggy mat!

WE DID IT!

We want to thank you all so much for believing in us and for all of your support to help fund the production of The Ultimate Backpack also for all of your amazing feedback, suggestions and kind words throughout the campaign! 

We're so excited to get these produced and sent out to you so you can start rockin' them to your game nights!

A special shout out to Michael, our unofficial collaborator who believe it or not is not a GeekOn spy buried deep within Kickstarter but just a stand-up dude who just happened to be the very first backer of this campaign and so helpful in providing others with the correct info that I was actually able to get a few hours of sleep each night knowing he was manning the comment thread! 

You rock Michael!

What next?

Well we apologize for the delayed shipment of the latest batch of backpack and add-on samples but we're hoping to get them in tomorrow and we'll be busy taking pics and videos to post in an update next week so that you'll have all the details and can better understand everything for when the surveys come out. 

Surveys: 

We'll be using Backerkit as the pledge manager so that means that after the 14 day grace period where Kickstarter collects all the payments from all of our awesome backers, we'll be sending out the surveys. If you're new to Kickstarter, the surveys are where you'll provide your shipping information, color choices and you'll have the ability to add on some of the other items you may like. We'll also be collecting the shipping charges through backerkit and will then be finalizing all the details with the various shipping hubs we'll be using around the world. 

As usual, we'll be keeping you updated throughout the process so keep an eye out for updates!

$750K Stretch Goal Unlocked! Can you please help us with production planning? - INFORMAL SURVEY

Hi everyone!

We're thrilled to announce that we've unlocked the $750k Stretch Goal for the rubber feet on the backpack bottom! This will provide extra protection to your backpack and contents when placed on the floor!

We've got a really awesome final Stretch Goal we'll be announcing within a day or so and think this will be icing on the cake!

As you probably know we're in our final week of the campaign and really appreciate all the support and awesome feedback we've received from all of you. 

To keep to the production and fulfillment schedule we're hoping to start gathering the materials needed for the production and really need your help to get an estimate on how much of each fabric we should order at this point. 

If you can please take about a minute to respond to this new survey it would be really appreciated!

***This is only an informal survey to get an estimate of total pieces and color breakdowns and you are not bound by your answers and can totally change your mind about color choices and add-ons later on when the campaign ends and we send you the actual campaign surveys which will collect your shipping info, color choices, add-ons, etc.. ***
